This prewar apartment had lots of potential, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the Hudson river. We opened up the enclosed rooms to create an open kitchen, dining, and living room with plenty of room for family life. The flooring was replaced with wide-plank engineered oak flooring throughout. The new kitchen has light gray shaker panel cabinets as a base, with white cabinets above. The wide peninsula provides ample work and gathering space, with Schoolhouse Electric pendants above. The owners are avid practitioners aerial yoga, so the living room was fitted out with hanging bars for aerial hammocks.
